Design I Like

Well, I'm required to find some sort of design and base my knowledge of specific design concepts that we have been discussing in class, such as composition, balance, color, and typography. Of course, that knowledge has been lost in the hellish chaos of these past few weeks, so I am going to do whatever I can do in order to pull something together and get credit for this thing, no matter how little there is. Anyway, the image I decided to appreciate is a portrait used from a kind of computer game, a Japanese visual novel entitled "Umineko no Naku Koro ni", which means "When Seagulls Cry" in English. The portrait depicts a woman named Beatrice, also known as the Golden Witch. In the story, this Golden Witch is merely a legend and believed not to exist until hints regarding the truth behind her existence begin to surface, with this portrait serving as a means of determining what Beatrice is like. According to the design, a majority of the colors used suggest a warm atmosphere surrounding Beatrice. However, this is in stark contrast to her blue eyes, which give off a chilling aura to her smile. With these techniques, it's easy to make something like a portrait, which is generally a prop in the story, be treated as if it were an actual character. Of course, by now, I've completely lost track of what I want to say, so I had might as well wrap it up here of all places.

The image can be seen below:
